About the training program

The Electric Power Engineering profile is the basic one within the framework of training students for the electric power industry. Students receive fundamental training in the field of electric power engineering, studying the processes occurring in all parts of the electric power system: from power generation facilities to power consumption facilities. Attention is paid to the research of new approaches and technologies of electricity generation, transmission and distribution, to the issues of providing consumers with electricity of high quality, increasing energy efficiency and reliability of electricity supply through the use of modern technical means, information technologies and methods

  • Skills in working with special software packages: PSCAD, RastrWin, EUROSTAG, RPA ARU, RPA ARM, Model Studio CS, EnergyCS
  • Research of new approaches and production technologies
  • Use of modern technical means, information technologies and methods of control and forecasting.

What do graduates do?

Graduates are in demand by generating, power grid, power repair, power supply, design and engineering companies, as well as large organisations that have power infrastructure and specialised departments responsible for its efficient operation - chief power engineer departments. Graduates work as specialists or engineers at the following enterprises: - PJSC RusHydro; - LLC Siberian Generating Company; - SibNIIE, a branch of JSC NTTs FGC UES; - Branch of JSC System Operator of the Unified Energy System of Russia - ODU of Siberia.
