About the training program
The direction provides fundamental training of highly qualified personnel in the field of research, development, production and application of devices and systems based on the use of optical radiation, modern computer, optical-laser and quantum information technologies, optical-fibre communication and created with the use of modern element base on the basis of integrated and fibre optics, semiconductor, fibre and planar lasers, nanoscale and photonic crystal structures.
Optical and laser systems and their application in scientific research, industry, medicine, ecology, hydro- and aerodynamics, space are studied.

Graduates of the educational program are in demand at research institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Institute of Automation and Electrometry, Design and Technological Institute of Scientific Instrumentation, Institute of Nuclear Physics, Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Institute of Thermophysics, Institute of Laser Physics, Institute of Organic Chemistry, etc.), applied research institutes (Siberian Research Institute of Optical Systems, Central Design Bureau "Tochpribor"), leading industrial enterprises developing high-tech technologies (Novosibirsk Instrument-Making Plant, etc.), small innovative enterprises of the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok Technopark.
