The Rector
The modern RUSS is a university with a rich 105-year history, one of the flagships of the Russian higher education system. We train modern sought-after specialists in social professions, conduct innovative scientific research, and participate in the implementation of Russia’s national projects. Our mission is to educate new government and public leaders with a systemic mindset, strategic vision, and broad professional competencies.
About the University
RUSS is a modern university that trains successful and qualified specialists and managers for almost all areas of the economy, politics, and public life of the country.
Our history dates back over a century and started in 1919. The University is the direct successor of the Sverdlov Communist University, the Communist International with its subordinate educational institutions, the Higher Party School (VPSh) at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the USSR and the Institute of Marxism-Leninism (IML).
Heads of state, famous athletes, and heads of government agencies are among our graduates. RUSS graduates work in almost all regions of the country, at all levels of various structures of the economy, politics, and public administration.
In 2023 alone, seven RUSS teachers and staff became laureates of the State Prize for achievements in science and education, and this is a unique result for Russian universities. More than 80% of our teachers have an academic degree.

Location
The main building is located near the VDNKh and Botanichesky Sad metro stations. RUSS has 4 academic buildings and 5 dormitories. Students study in well-equipped classrooms and conference rooms. There are proper sports halls and recreation centers, a stadium and a swimming pool.
Health and Fitness Complex
There is a sports complex in the premises of the University where students can practice a variety of sports, including swimming, synchronized swimming, and CrossFit. This is a great opportunity to stay fit and healthy while studying.
Driving School
Our own driving school on the territory of RUSS is a great opportunity for those who want to get a driver’s license or improve their driving skills.
RUSS Hall of Culture
The university’s own Hall of Culture provides students with many opportunities for creative development and self-expression. There, students can practice music, dance, theater, and other arts.
Assistance to foreigners
International students can study at RUSS under quota or on a fee basis. The quota changes every year, and a dormitory is provided. Students from other countries are provided with support, adaptation and language learning assistance, and medical insurance.

RUSS Branches are located in such cities as Osh, Minsk, Anapa, Sochi, Pyatigorsk, Klin, and Pavlovsky Posad. Due to this, students have the opportunity to receive quality education at branches that are closer to their place of residence.
